American Host in Lompoc

It's a mom and pops operation with a mom and pops attitude "We'll get to you, when we get to you". Food is edible and it doesn't kill you. The place is well-known with the locals so they're used to the level of service they receive from this establishment. Do not come to this place hungry or you will get frustrated, Like me!!

This place was fantastic. The food was great and the service was just as amazing. It was pretty fairly priced and you received a ton of food, most of which you'll need boxes for. Overall great place to take the family and friends and eat till your heart bursts. 5/5

Great service and food. Best place in Lompoc for breakfast in my opinion have been eating there since I was a kid and still enjoy the food.

The first time I tried American Host I was visiting california and I was 2 months pregnant with my first child. I remember the food being so delicious and it didn't make me sick so that meant my baby loved it too! I ate there atleast another 3 times before I left home. Now we live in lompoc, my daughter will be 2 in January and we still LOVE American Host. Such a comfortable place to enjoy a DELICIOUS meal with your loved ones. GREAT service all the time. Our go to breakfast spot when we don't feel like cooking.

The food is absolutely excellent here. Great breakfast options. From the Garbage Pail omelette, to the waffles, or the biscuits and gravy, you can't go wrong with anything. Prices are good as they are almost all around $8-12 per plate and it is all a lot of food. Plenty of options! I would certainly recommend it as one of the best options in the Lompoc area for breakfast.

The absolute BEST place in Lompoc to get breakfast. If been coming here since I was a wee one (so we'll over 20 yrs!) I recently moved away from Lompoc, but we'll sometimes make the 45 minute drive just to eat here. It's always had a very cozy, Americana feeling. It has not lost that, even with the new addition. Portions are generous, food is delicious, and service is unmatched.

Really great breakfast and lunch. Prices are super fair and there is always daily specials. Service is great and everyone is nice. It gets pretty packed on the weekends but we'll worth the wait.

The hostess and our waitress were very courteous attentive to my family's needs. A very nice 👍 place to eat.

This place has the BEST breakfast. We are considering coming here every Sunday morning to start off our week right. Our waitress was so nice and kind! We will definitely be returning.

The wait was short at 10:30am, service was friendly and considerate, bathrooms were clean, and food was so good I inhaled it before I could snap a photo... but maybe that’s because we waited an hour for food. At one point we considered just leaving. The waitress was great and was super apologetic. She had promptly taken our order upon arriving, but you could tell she was trying diffuse the situation... of which she did a great job and is probably the only reason we stayed.

One of the last “Classic Diners “ in the heart of Lompoc. Try the Figueroa with a house mimosa.

I went here with the family, we did have a total of 10 people. We got put 6 at one table and 4 at the other. Which would have been fine if they put us where we didn't have our backs to the table of 4. When we asked if we could move to a bigger table the host with the short hair came off very rude and unprofessional. This bad review does not reflect our waitresses who was wonderful and was on the ball. Too bad the rest of the workers couldn't be more like our waitresses. If I could I would give zero stars for my first and last visit here.

As traditional as it gets and that's what American host prides themselves in. Huge omelettes, fluffy pancakes and waffles. The gaviota is delicious! Definitely see why this is a town favorite. Will return next time in lompoc

I have been going here for 30 years, back then it was a counter with eight seats. I have NEVER had a bad experience!

Ordered the "American Host Breakfast" consisting of 4 pancakes (I added blueberries), bacon, 2 eggs over-medium, and hash browns. The whole meal was good, but the pancakes were the best I've had in a while. They were light & fluffy and served with fresh blueberries. The hash browns had nice crisp outer layers and wasn't too greasy. Coffee was better than in the past, but just OK; a bit too weak for me. I like that they serve it in an individual carafe which keeps it hot throughout the meal.The staff provided excellent service from the moment I walked in to paying my bill. Did I mention the prices are reasonable too?Bottom line: If you're looking for a good classic American breakfast with friendly hometown American service, then I recommend a stop on in. I am definitely looking forward to my next trip back. Easily 5 of 5 stars!

Told me 12mins took 30mins for ri go order

I hadn't been inside in many years. Just moved back and thought I'd give it a try. They've come a long way. My server was very accommodating in my crazy eating. No carbs with my breakfast. The server was more than willing to adjust the menu offerings to suit my needs. I hate walking out of a place that isn't willing to meet you in the middle. Not here. Breakfast and my salad came out quickly, was delicious and I walked out full.

It was very good I had a garbage pail on it and could not eat all of it

Great food. Generous portions. Come early on Sunday, it gets pretty packed and there is a wait. The later it gets the longer the wait is. Quick and friendly service. No complaints other than having to wait :) would come again.

Priscilla was the best waitress ever. She offered excellent customer service to our large party. Garbage pail omelet hits the spot!

This is a great place to dine in. It has the feeling of past nostalgic times. The staff are amazing along with the speed of their service. The food is great but thier waffles is were they excell.

Very nice! Open to the public after Covid-19. Safety measures in place.Simply sign in with name and with phone number. (County Regulations) use hand sanitizer before and after you use the bathroom and of course stay 6 ft away from each other. Breakfast was delicious coffee was very good five stars.

Good food, good price. Bacon came extra crispy, love it, but salty. Could I get a burger for my bacon?

Been here twice recently with my girlfriend.The food is great (especially the chicken fried steak).Wait staff is pretty good, and this establishment can and does get really busy.So, sometimes the servers will also be running around doing their best.Trust me, you won't have minded the wait when you taste the food.

Nice cozy breakfast spot. Had the banana waffles with whip cream, caramel and nuts. They have many different breakfast options. The food is very good. Just be prepared to wait a little if you visit in the morning on the weekends.

This is an "old school" diner plus. Very busy but very polite. I chose to sit at the counter and really enjoyed the show.

This place is excellent. Only been here twice, new in town, and it is the go to for breakfast and lunch. The CFS is outstanding, garbage pail omelette and Belgium waffle are all top notch. Had the pastrami sandwich today and it's pretty much the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had. That BLAT my daughter had was also delicious. Plenty of bacon and avocado. We'll be back.

My goto spot! I visit Lompoc every month, and I always have to visit American Host. I dine out a lot, and this place is always consistent and filling and is one of my Top 5 places to eat at while on the road! Large portions, full of flavor every time. I've learned to enjoy sitting at the kitchen bar. The cooks themselves take care of you, each one always checking on you, making sure your meal is great and that your drink is always topped off. It's fun watching the cooks do their magic. The comradery amongst them working seemly together, making the perfect meal for each and every guest! Being tucked away on a side street, this is a true hidden gem and is worth the visit. Just like their slogan says "It's Always Good"

I am in love with this cafe. I come every time I'm in Lompoc. The food is exceptional and the service legit. One of the few places ive found that really understand what it takes to make incredible breakfast. My personal favorite? The corned beef hash. Bam, eat here. Do yourself that favor
